FAN Industry Affiliates (FIA)

Goal

A discussion in the Steering Committee meeting at the Nanoflorida 2022 held at the University of Florida led to the concept of FAN working with relevant industries to increase collaborative student education and accelerating translation of nano-innovations for societal benefit. 

The FAN Industry Affiliates (FIA) will comprise of professional partners within Nanotechnology and Biotechnology, and other industries, as well as non-profit and for profit Research Institutions.

The mission of FIA is to:

  • Provide a network of industry contacts for stakeholders, faculty, and students

  • Establish joint career, research, and educational collaborations and pipelines for students

  • Strengthen industry-academia partnerships within the State of Florida and foster entrepreneurial activities

  • Ensure educational programs are effective and relevant for meeting the needs of industry affiliates and the community
